Thoughts about the World & Media

I believe that communication is at the heart of academic life.

I’m lucky to have had the chance to write on topical issues I care about in blogs and opinion pieces for HBR.org, Forbes.com, Fortune, LBS’s Think! and Huffington Post, and have written OpEds for newspapers such as the Financial Times and El Pais.

Given my natural interest in Greece, I took a strong interest in the sovereign debt crisis of 2011–2016, and contributed to the leading Greek newspapers (To Vima, Naftemporiki) and became a semi-regular OpEd columnist for Kathimerini, the Greek equivalent of the New York Times – a role I still fulfil today. At the peak of the crisis, I appeared regularly on CNN, as well as CNBC, NPR, Russia’s SkyTV, Greece’s Skai and more. Since the Greek crisis subsided, I have scaled back my media appearances, but still occasionally engage in TV and radio – for example, on BBC4
